This shrug is a pattern by my friend Kate. She designed it for a class she was teaching. The yarn is a rayon, silk with a touch of sparkle. I embellished it with a collar. I love the way it feels. It will be a perfect little something over a sundress! I have started another project - a vest by Jenny King. I'm using Sublime cashmere yarn in a beautiful soft raspberry. I will post pictures of it shortly.....

I just wanted to make a quick post today in honor of all of the service men & women. I was thinking yesterday evening while sitting on my deck - how very lucky we all are to live where we do. To have peaceful days & nights, to wake up to 'our regular lives' (compared to some country where we'd be wondering how to feed our family that day, or trying to figure out how to get from point A to B without getting hit by a bullet or step on a landmine). THANK YOU - armed forces, veterans, doctors, nurses and all who gave their, time, energy, and lives - so that Americans can have a FREE country. And Thank You God for blessing our country. My second published pattern will be available next month in Interweave Crochet. I'm so excited to realize that I CAN create new patterns and someone wants to put it in a publication. Like many of you, I have made stuff up and created LOTS of things over the years. It wasn't until very recently a friend suggested I send a new creation of mine in for consideration for an accessories issue. I was stunned and amazed that it was accepted. Of course this just increased my desire to do more! I have several ideas on the table and hope to get more things published in craft magazines. I will also be making some of my original designs available on my website. A couple of which are available for FREE download already. This is my first blog post. I'm new to this - so bear with me as I travel through the shperes of cyberspace with my thoughts, ideas, and daydreams of crochet. There maybe a sprinkling of random stuff here and there - but my goal is to stay oriented to the craft on this blog. Keep your hooks movin'..... J |
